Unboxing: In Greens.co.uk

Last weekend I received this package I ordered at In Greens. In this blogpost, I’ll be telling you a bit more about the items and why I bought them. Usually I’d be literally unboxing whatever I’d ordered, but in this case it was more like unwrapping, as you can see in the top left picture.

In Greens is all about sustainability. They are, as is stated on their homepage, an online plastic free shop. I love their motto, “Be plastic free. Be green. Be happy. No excuse for single use.” Don’t you?

Anyway. The package came in – all wrapped in newspapers and tape, no plastic whatsoever. Everything was wrapped in cute yellow dotted wrapping paper – “Give yourself a pat on the bum” it said. I found out it was recycled from Who gives a crap – amazing, right? I totally love how environmental conscious this shop is, and I haven’t even started unpacking the products!

I ordered a Lavender & Geranium shampoo bar because shampoo bars leaves me guilt-free and my hair loves it. No plastic, just put them on a soap dish (which I also ordered) or in a small tin and you’re ready to go! I haven’t actually tried this shampoo bar yet, but as soon as I do, I will let you know if it lived up to my expectations!

I really wanted to give up on plastic toothbrushes as well. It’s something I didn’t think about before, but there’s so much plastic waist there! A good alternative is a bamboo toothbrush. I chose the one with purple bristles – how could I not – and actually already tried it out yesterday. I will be very honest with you: I don’t like the feeling of it. Maybe I should just get used to it, but I’ve always hated wooden cutlery, and with this it’s the same. I just don’t like the raw feeling of wood in my mouth. The things I do for the environment…

And last but not least: the natural stain remover. It’s a vegan alternative to ox gall soap (which is bile obtained from cows, disgusting!). I haven’t tried this one either, but will definitely post a review when I have.

I would definitely recommend In Greens if you’re looking for handy, vegan, environment-friendly, plastic free products.
